Maynard Dixon Museum and Native Art
The Maynard Dixon Museum show cases Native Americans that Dixon visited over a forty year period from 1900 to 1940. Dixon would spend up to six months among the Native Americans he painted. These Native tribes include the Flathead, Crow, Blackfoot, Sioux, Mono, Yuma, Mohave, Tonto Apache, Western Apache, Navajo, Hopi, Yaqui, Pima, and Papago Indians. Over 150 pieces of original Maynard Dixon artwork including paintings, drawings, his easel, poetry, and original Maynard Dixon ephemera can be seen at the Museum. Admission is free.
